As the Artistic Director of TransAction Theatre I collaborate to create innovative cross-cultural 'performance from the periphery,' on issues of identity, inclusion, diversity and empowerment. I identify as a female man whose work question’s LGBT+ boxes, calling for a world beyond gender binaries, transcending borders of difference through 'intersectional politics of allegiance'. As a writer-performer-deviser, educator and art-activist who creates interdisciplinary experimental work, I run a wide variety of multi-disciplined projects for theatres, conferences, cultural events, training for organisations, specific interest groups, artists, actors and university students. Since my BA Hon's, PGCE distinction in theatre and MA in Ed.research and women's studies 20 years ago, I have collaborated with MIF, The Men's Room, IOU, Mothers Ruin, LGBT History Month, 'diRTy' integrated BSL DadaFest with InterPlay, ‘Drag King Richard III’ Bristol Shakespeare festival, Arnolfini, Trans-Scripts Verbatim, National Theatre South Bank, The Young Vic, Vital Xposure, FilmPro, RSC, Gaydio, Club Wotever Hackney Empire, Duckie Vauxhall Tavern, Stockholm PRIDE, Fresh Fruit Festival New York, Malmo Arts Festival, Montreal Meow Mix, Casa Trans Ecuador, trans sex workers in Thailand, drama workshops in India, Namibia, Peru and South Africa, devising solo with Peggy Shaw (Split Britches) Drill Hall London, Queer Contact, Homotopia, GlasGay, Oval House, Queer-Up-North, CAN, SpeakEasy The Greenroom, Apples & Snakes BBC Radio4 and toured self-devised multi-media show A:Gender across the UK, Australia, Belgium, Sweden, Canada and New York.
